The German Federal Cabinet has authorized Covaxin and reduced entrance restrictions for persons who have been immunized with WHO-approved vaccinations.
For travel to Germany, a two-dose vaccination of Covaxin will be accepted starting on June 1, 2022. There is no need for a booster unless the last dosage was given fewer than 270 days ago and was given more than 14 days ago.
Mr. Walter J Lindner, the German Ambassador to India, announced the approval in a tweet on Thursday.
Very happy that GER government just decided to recognize WHO-listed Covaxin for travels to GER, starting June 1! This Embassy has been pushing very actively for such decision (because of Covid-backlogs visa sections have longer waiting periods than normal, please have patience) pic.twitter.com/LFKqlyYzaW
