The German government will provide a one-time flat-rate energy allowance of €300.

Wednesday, March 23, 2022, the German coalition government agreed on a number of aid programs to assist citizens with excessive energy costs. Due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict situation, energy costs in Germany have increased significantly.

According to statistics from the Statistisches Bundesamt, diesel costs €2.06 per litre in Germany as of April 4, while super E5 costs €2.06 per litre.

The growing cost of electricity is already taking a toll on people’s wallets. To tackle this problem, the German coalition government has proposed many relief packages, including a one-time €300 income tax refund for every citizen, a 90-day ticket for just €9, €100 per kid for families, and a three-month decrease in gas and diesel taxes.

People dealing with rising energy costs and inflation would greatly benefit from this.
